Stay at Johnstown Estate

I liked the accommodation. Room was not overheated as some rooms are in winter. Plenty of lounging space throughout the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean. nice decor,, brilliant atmosphere in the Brasserie when the match was on. Was celebrating a special event and we were provided with a very comfortable eating space.

Not overenthusiastic about high chairs in dining area. Slightly on the pricy side. Had a family member staying in a single room which was expensive.

The spa and dinner in the restaurant were absolutely fantastic. I think it is one of the nicest spas I have been to.

The room was very basic and dated. It didn’t help that there was construction going on outside our window and nobody in the hotel mentioned this to us prior to arrival or when we were checking in. This was disappointing as there was some noise eventhough it was a bank holiday Sunday.

A little slice of Christmas magic in a fantastic location.

Friendly staff and a beautiful location, especially lit up for Christmas. Buffet breakfast and restaurant dining options worked well for family dining needs.

The changing rooms and particularly the lockers for the swimming pool are run-down and a bit shabby - they really let the place down - especially given how fantastic the pool itself is. €700 for a lodge for a weekend, but breakfast not included seems like a disconnect. Staff at the breakfast buffet are a little blunt in explaining that you need to pay also (sometimes it's not what you ask, but how you ask)

A very enjoyable place to stay

Our party of four were all very happy with the Johnstown Estate hotel from the moment we arrived to the day we left. We eaten twice in the bar during our stay and again all staff were great as was the food. The only complaint we would have is that the Spa Resort was fully booked on the weekend we stay which was disappointing as it is a great addition to the hotel and before we book again we would check this first.

Room was very cold at night. The Heating system can be improved

Nice hotel, very friendly and supportive staff. specious room, nicely decorated. Beds and pillows are of good quality. Complementary coffee, tea, biscuits and still water in the room. Large and fancy bathroom with complimentary toiletries including towels with different sizes. Breakfast was very good, but with limited vegetarian options. Nice indoor sitting areas with lovely decorations and flowers.

1. The room was cold, especially at night. The heating system is not very efficient (my stay was in November). 2. When I first entered my room there were some shoes stains on the floor and in the bathroom. Cleaning can be improved. 3. There was a bad smell in the bathroom. 4. The dinner in the restaurant was not very tasty but the waiters are really nice and friendly (I ordered packed salmon). 5. The location of the hotel is quite far from the bus station. You need to arrange a car transportation in advance.

The food, staff and general facilities. The menu options are fabulous and the food is wonderful.

Our room door was faulty, and we were moved to a room that was much smaller and was an adjoining room, and didn't have the same facilities.

The receptionist at check in was very friendly & wecoming.

We stayed in a lodge, decor very dated & well worn. Lighting very poor and not a comfortable or cosy feel about the lodge. The drains in the bathroom sink and shower were blocked & the water stayed sitting in the basins. There were no rubbish bins in the bedrooms. We arrived about 7pm & were told we could park outside the lodge there was parking available & we had to park a distance up. It was very difficult to read the lodge no’s. the outside lighting was very poor. We had dinner in the bar, the service was very poor young & untrained staff & the food arrived out cold.

The bed was comfortable and one staff member in the coach...

The bed was comfortable and one staff member in the coach restaurant was nice I think he was a manager.

The thermostat in room 203 was broken so it was a bit cold. There was no mini bar or robe on the deluxe double room. When we checked in we tried to book the restaurant for the night but on receiption Andrea said her computer was broken and later said that the restaurant was booked out for the night so we had to eat dinner in the coach bar which was overcrowded with about 50 noisy kids and a women's football team and there are no other nice restaurants in Enfield. The spa didn't provide robes or slippers just to use the pool and sauna, they only give you them if you book a spa experience. We had no towels with us so we would have expected to be able to get some in the hotel. This is a very noisy non sound proofed hotel. We could hear people all night like they were in our room and on top of that the hotel gave us a conjoined room even though we did NOT want one. Freaky! Way over priced food in the bar. Way over priced room service with 10pp charge. All after paying 230 for just one night. Very disappointing, not what you want for a romantic weekend away.

Lodge we stayed in had ripped curtains in the dining area with large dirty stains. Bathroom had black mold around bath. Carpet was badly stained throughout.. Bar area service was very slow for evening bar food and also lunch the following day. 45 mins waiting.

Enjoyable stay. We ate out on the second night, due to the poor quality of food on the first night.

Family Lodge was ideal for us. Had everything we needed. Swimming pool + facilities were great + clean.

The Bar restaurant was very warm on our stay. The food was also very poor in my opinion. I had ordered sirloin steak, but it was off poor quality.
